Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. She began her career in the early 1990s. has been described as going beyond "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop. [4] She's also taken influences from electronic music, hip hop, as well as rock. A lot of her songs have science fiction-related themes as well as feminist issues. Five albums have come out. Growing up in Vancouver (later moving in Montreal), Grimes began performing her music at the end of the 2000s she released two albums: Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa from 2010 on Arbutus Records. Following her joining 4AD the band gained the charts thanks to Visions which was her 3rd studio album. Visions features the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. The album received high marks by critics and a variety of magazines voted it to be the top album. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is the judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part in the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
